It's Done!

As some of you know for the past couple of months Marley has been bugging me to get her ears pierced. Yes, I realize she's only three and I'm her mother. But to keep me sane I could only handle so much "Mom, why are you wearing those... Mom, I want to try them... Mom, let me see your earings... Mom, I want my ears pierced." Oh my. So we did it. Thanks Tracy, for meeting me, supporting me, and taking her pictures! ;)

A stunned Marley. She was excited, I promise. And yes, I did warn her...

Ear #1...

... not so bad.

Ear #2...

...not so good.
Yes, I cried with her. I thought "What did I just do?!?"

Getting her lolli pop, me sniffing.

Her pink, of course pink, flower earing.
Look at those lashes. They're practically combing her eyebrows. Wow, girl!

Trying to get her to smile, proof that she's happy. Not yet, I suppose. After a minute or so in the store she was fine. Really.

Here's the Marley I love.
Afterwards we went to Aero for a minute. She found the huge mirror, checked out her earings and did a little jig.

And finally... proof of
HAPPINESS!!!
After this store we went to the Hallmark store. She was carrying her bag of ear stuff that said "I got my ears pierced today" (same as the pink sticker she's wearing). She walked up to some of the workers and just stared at them. One of the ladies noticed her "sign" and asked her if she got new earings. She nodded and they all looked at her earings and made a big deal out of it. She felt pretty special.
What a big day for my little girl.

4 month stats

The numbers are in...
weight: 13.8 lbs/47%
length: 25.5 inches/85%
head: 16.5 inches/70%

Even after her shots she's still a happy baby. It's hard not to look at this picture and not smile. Love her!

taken care of sis

When I got out of the shower this morning this is what I found. Emma had woken up and Marley was right there to take care of her. I would've been worried but as the previous post shows, Marley is a good helper and an even better sister.

4 mths + cereal = messy girl!

We started cereal with Emma last night. She did ok. I wouldn't say that she likes but she didn't hate it either. Well... you'll see.

Woa - look at that flash!

"What the - "
I like the look on her face. If her eyebrows were darker you could really see the "howard scowl".

Washing down the cereal.
This is her "I'm sleepy, turn out the lights" look when she's drinking her bottle.

The perfect spitting the rice out picture.

Marley is such a huge help!

snow!

It snowed! Not a ton but enough for the kids to get out. I only got three pics of Marley in the snow. She was shoveling our neighbors sidewalks. She loves being outside.

he won

Corbin won this years coloring contest at Sierra Homes. He was so excited. His picture (with other kids in his age group) will be in the local paper tomorrow and the gift he won from the local company was this gingerbread house kit. 4 pounds of it, I might add. We had a fun night putting it together.
Good job, Bubba!!

Marley being Marley. :D

In this pic Colt "iced" gum drops to their noses. I love this pic of Mar. She is such a daddy's girl!

The finished product!

Merry Christmas to ME!

Yesterday the Fed Ex man delivered my camera! Yay for me!! I'm so happy to have it back. It's a great Christmas present, I love my camera! How many people can say they got the same camera twice for Christmas. :) Thanks Dad for letting my use yours for the past month. You're awesome!
Emma is also happy to have our camera back. ;)
(She reminds me of a blonde Marley in this pic. I'll get some photo comparisons on here soon.)
Jen, this is the outfit you gave her. Can you believe she's wearing it already? It's 6-9 months and it's always looked so huge. I figured we'd get to break it out in February, even with her being so long. Thanks to Josee I pulled it out a little earlier and I'm so glad I did. I love it!

It Snowed!

And this is all that's left. So much for a white winter!

My baby is four months!!

I can't believe Emma is four months already, she's grown so fast! I wanted to do a photo shoot since she hasn't had one in a while. These aren't as good as *the ones Leslie did* but they'll do just fine. Thanks Daddy for letting me use your camera. Mine will be back soon!! :D
~Four things I LOVE about Emma Shea~

(1) Her beautiful blue eyes.

(2) She sleeps all night.

(3) Her happy spirit.

(4) Her sweet smile & giggles.

Alright, I know that's five, but there's just so much that I love about my baby girl. She's amazing!!

kids + soap = bubbles

Marley: "Me Santa, HO HO HO"

Marley the Musician

I was headed downstairs to rotate laundry when I heard a beautiful sound.
"The Ipsy Bisty Spider went up the water spout..."
I peaked around the corner and found Mar jamming out.

BUSTED.
Not knowing if she should be embarrassed or not...

... I got her to get going again...

... and finally a smile!!
Like I've said before, pure entertainment!!

Emma & her hair

I've said for the longest time how I love Emma's hair after tubbing her. Well I still do. She's got different colors to it, I just love it. I wish her hair would stay all cute and "stylish" (I know, she's only 4 months!) but after it drys it goes "poof". So here it is, before poofing.

I love her baby blues, too!!

~rolling over~

Emma Shea rolled over!! She's been moving around for weeks now so I new it would happen soon. She rolled over for the first time last night (Dec 1st). Every time she was on her back she'd roll over. These pictures are from this morning, getting in more practice. The funny thing is she hates being on her stomach and only goes from back to belly so she gets stuck. She's getting so much fun!!

fun Emma

Look at those chubs!! Look at her long fingers!! What a beautiful baby. I love her so much. I think I have a picture of all my kids like this. My baby girl....

Double Story Post

I have to begin with this:

I love my two big kids more then anything in the world. (E. Shea, too, but she doesn't hold a part in this story, not this year...) No worldly thing could make me love them any less. They're my world, they're my life!!
A couple of weeks ago Colt had taken pics of the kids carving pumpkins. Later that night Kids A and B got a hold of the camera... here is the damning evidence...

Kid A's work

Kid B's work - Marley got a very good pic out her bedroom window.
To make a long confusing story short my camera is now on it's way to a Canon fixit shop in IL where it will hopefully be fixed and returned to me in tip top condition.
We were still able to take pictures but unable to see the result of these pictures on the little display window. (What did we ever do before the digital age?!?!) You know those Fisher Price cameras for kids? Guess what we're going to ask Santa for, this year!!!
This last Saturday (Nov. 1st) Colt and Corbin went on this massive hike with my brother and his two boys. This hike was a huge deal for two reasons. It's Corbins FIRST EVER hike and it was a major hike. I'm not sure of the exact distance but I'm sure it is something I wouldn't have accomplished.
I told Colt to take the camera, even though it wasn't fully working I still needed some pics. This is what happens when the lens cover (for lack of a better term) doesn't open/close all the way.

That's Jaxons cute little head that we can't see.

A little better.

And better still.
I love this pic. Look how high up they are!!

Taking a break.

Just getting started.

Before they left - Corbins first hike!
I am so proud of Corbin (& Jaxon & Tyler) for doing this. Corbin absolutely loved it. He even brough some sea shells (I know!) home with him. I'm so glad they did this and that they all came home safe.

the best personality

My little Marley has one of the best personalities. She's so entertaining and fun to watch. You never know what she'll come up with. From walking on her toes (curling them under her feet and walking on them - ouch!), doing her own hair, dancing, singing, and just being HER. She is definitely our families entertainment.
This particular day I had Corbins school clothes sat out for him but Marley got to them first. She threw on his shirt and scocks and here we are! I love her little skinny legs, I took the pic before she got her own pants on. This isn't the first time she's dressed up in CJ's clothes - remember these pics? (click here)

Where is Emma?

Since she's been moving she's found her way to the side of her crib where she then pulls the bumper bad over her face. Luckily this doesn't happen during the night. Only when she's getting tired of me ignoring her while I'm busy with the other two.

(I have the bumper bad doubled on a couple of the sides so I can raise and lower the side wall easier. I apparently need to change that!)
